Wonderful Barcelona

We’ve been busy with so many wonderful activities, sights, and experiences in Barcelona that will never fit into one blog. I’ll do my best to hit on a few of my favorites.

On Tuesday, after our Spanish class, we visited a house that was constructed by Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi was a Spanish Catalan architect whose work was very unique. He was influenced by forms of nature and used curved construction and twisted iron. Here is a picture of my friends Cami and Kathleen exploring the inside of the house. It was so complex that we got lost several times.

Later, on Tuesday, we had our first cooking demonstration. The staff brought us a menu with a variety of pastas, salads, and meats to choose from. My roommate, Charlotte and I chose a potato salad. It ended up taking longer than we thought, but it was delicious!

On Wednesday, we went with our Spanish class to explore the market in Barcelona. There were stands filled with fish, meats, fruit, vegetables, and candy. I went straight for the candy and got my friend Cami and I a big bag of sour treats.

I’m off to the beach – Adios!
