Un Bouton de Fièvre

Ever since I was little, I have always gotten cold sores. They hurt. They are ugly. There is surely nothing good about them. So today when I noticed the beginning signs of a cold sore underneath my nose, I could not have been any more displeased.

It just so happens that, later on that afternoon, I had to pay a visit to the apartment of two of my professeurs – Leslie Faucheux and Hélène Sanchez – for some papers. Once I got to the door of their apartment, Hélène was heading out to la pharmacie. I told her about my cold sore and asked if I could go with her. She told me no. Instead she went to la pharmacie and specifically bought me cream for my cold sore on her own tab. She will still not let me pay her back!

Throughout my experience with Abbey Road Programs here in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, I have been helped, supported, and cared for by an outstanding faculty. Words cannot justly express how grateful I am to Leslie, Hélène, and Alexis.

It is incredibly hard to believe that this is my last full week in France. The expression that time flies by when you are having fun could never be more true than it is right now…
