Park Güell by Antoni Gaudí
by Student, Sara B. , Florida

This week has been amazing! On Thursday we had class in the morning. We went out to one of Barcelona’s famous plazas, which is the home to the big department store: El Corte Ingles, where we got the opportunity to roam around and shop, while sharpening our Spanish skills.

Later that day we went to Park Guell: Antoni Gaudi’s famous site. It was such a beautiful place, and was very intriguing to roam around. The artwork was so cool and the view was amazing. It was definitely a memorable experience!

On Friday for class, groups went to local cafes to relax and have a snack, while learning how to ask for directions in busy plazas. Their skills were put to the test when they were asked to find cathedrals and monuments, and were left to their devices of communicating with Barcelona natives, as well as having to rely on a map.  Later on Friday, we had our elective where we went to a chocolate museum, and two art galleries. Week number two has proven itself to be fun, interesting, and enriching!
