Our Final Days in Cadiz

Abbey Road Session 2 in Cadiz

is coming to an end, and during the last day of school Abbey Road students took the opportunity to show AR staff what they’ve learned so far in Spain.

As you may remember, our group was split into 3 different classes: Cultura y Conversación (Culture and Conversation), Fotografía (Photography) and Flamenco dancing. All three groups gave performances at La Salle Viña school on their final day.

The Cultura y Conversación group presented sketches from different movies, while the Fotografía group put together a wonderful collage with pictures of Cádiz, places we’ve visited during the program, and even funny pictures of themselves and their classmates.

The Flamenco group gave us a spectacular dance performance. It was great watching our students showing their appreciation for the elective classes they picked! But our students’ creations did not stop there…

Last Friday night, we met with our students for one last time at Playa La Caleta. All students entered a Tapas contest. Some prepared their Tapas on their own and some with the help of their host families. They were all very tasty and we all ended up with full and happy tummies!

The next day, AR students went on a field trip to Ronda, a city located in the Málaga region. While there, the students visited one of the oldest bullfighting rings in all of Spain, the remains of ancient Arab baths, and the well known Balcón del Coño. Once back in Cádiz, we had another group dinner, this time at a local pizzería.

Sunday was a relaxing day at a beach in Nuevo Cádiz, which is the newest part of the Cádiz region. Monday, students had a Día Libre (free day) to do some last minute shopping, visit their favorite places in town, and spend some time with their friends and host families. We hope that you have enjoyed reading another blog about the life of Abbey Road Session 2 students in Cádiz, Spain. Stay tuned for more of Abbey Road as some of students begin their extension in Seville and Cordoba in a few days!
