Loving the Homestay Experience

It is hard to believe that I just started my second week in France. It is true what they say: time flies when you are having fun. Now, the other students and I have habituated to our course schedule and the daily life of the French in Saint-Laurent-du-Var. Even though we have so many more great adventures awaiting us, I can already tell that by the end of the program, my favorite part will have been my experience with my homestay family.

Since the day that my two roommates and I arrived, Monsieur et Madame Mulet have been so welcoming and hospitable. They have never hesitated to share their home, their family, their insight, and, most especially, their delicious food with us.

Tonight we had une soiree to play games and hangout at the Saint-Laurent-du-Var beach. At around 22:30 (10:30pm) Madame Mulet came to pick up me and my roommates. On the drive home, she made us sing and dance along to the classic American song, “The Final Count Down”. I know that in twenty years or so I will be able to look back on my experiences here in Saint-Laurent-du-Var and remember my fun and caring home-stay family.
