After living in the south of France for a month, we had to come to terms with a sad reality: we’re leaving! To spend our final day in St-Laurent, my roommate and I went to the beach with our homestay family. We visited Théoule-sur-mer and found a beautiful, isolated beach lined by red cliffs. We spent hours on the beach just relaxing and enjoying our last moments together.
That night, I packed up all my belongings, making sure not to forget anything. I said goodbye to my four-year-old host sister, for we were leaving very early in the morning. Mary, my roommate, and I stayed up late, packing and getting ready to part ways. Morning came and our host dad drove us to the airport. I thanked my host parents again and again, for they were the most amazing and influential aspect of my stay.
I am so grateful for this experience and cannot wait to return to France!
