This summer I will be going on the Western Civilization trip with Abbey Road Programs.
On the trip, I am looking forward to seeing the Parthenon in Athens, because it is one of the oldest buildings in human history, not to mention dedicated to Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare Athena. Another thing I am interested in seeing is the Colosseum in Rome, because it was basically the center of everything social until the city’s fall. You could see anything from gladiators fighting, to lions and tigers massacring people. I don’t really know what to expect in Florence other than that it will be full of history from the Renaissance. Last but not least, I want to see the Eiffel Tower in Paris, because for years now it has been one of my dreams to see it
The reason I wanted to study abroad was because the thought of having lunch on the steps of the Parthenon or taking pictures in front of the Eiffel Tower sounded almost impossible for a small town girl from Texas. I can’t wait for this summer! It just won’t come soon enough.
