Our Florence fashion design program is for students of all academic backgrounds and levels interested in studying fashion design with some of the best experts in the field, graduates of Italy’s top fashion schools. This program is for those who are excited about immersing themselves in the Florentine culture and lifestyle, learning in an interactive, engaging way, and exploring Italy as savvy visitors, rather than tourists.
Every day is a new opportunity to experience la dolce vita first-hand. From eating the meal of a lifetime in Piazza Santa Croce to listening to nightly live music on Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s elegant, palace-lined streets make for the ultimate Italian cultural pre-college experience.

  • Learn fashion design with experts from Italy’s best fashion schools, top professionals in the industry
  • Live in comfortable, fully air-conditioned, spacious student apartments in the historical center of Florence
  • Savor authentic local food prepared by local chefs and our own staff
  • Learn in a fun, interactive way, outside of the classroom (hence our Experiential Learning Method!)
  • Be a smart, sophisticated visitor. Go above and beyond the beaten path of regular tourism!
  • Make friends with local peers and students from all over the world

Fashion Design

Using the Italian fashion industry as a model, students are introduced to the different workings and inter-relationships of various industries and services that compose the fashion business. From textile design and accessories to haute-couture and prêt-a-porter, students will explore the many aspects of the Italian fashion industry. Visits to design studios, fashion exhibits and creative projects, introduce students to the industry first hand. The course looks at how trends are evaluated, fabrics are selected and final products find their way from the drawing board to the runway and clothing racks.

Residential Life

You will live in upscale, fully air-conditioned student apartments, in the very center of the city, a 15 minute walk from Piazza della Signoria, the center of historical Florence. The apartments have living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and 2-3 bedrooms. Each bedroom is shared by two students, with staff members housed in a separate apartment down the hall.

You will be part of our summer family, learning to be independent and self-reliant, to share responsibilities with your fellow students, manage your own schedule and preparing for college!
