My Last Days in Aix

As our stay in Aix came to a close, we did so many activities together.

Saturday was the most amazing day. We went to Cassis, which is probably the most beautiful place I have ever seen. We had a gorgeous boat ride on the Mediterranean and got to have lunch on the water. The view was absolutely spectacular! We spent the afternoon at the beach swimming in the extremely salty, clear, blue, warm Mediterranean water and basking in the sun. While some of us got sunburned, nothing could ruin this perfect day. We had an amazing dinner of quiche and salad at a fabulous restaurant, and we had a relaxing night under the stars, watching a silent film accompanied by live music.

Sunday we got to sleep in; my roommate and I got up early, however, to have a nice breakfast. It’s interesting to learn about different cultures, because the streets of Aix are a ghost town at 9 am on a Sunday!

We had a delicious picnic lunch and spent a relaxing afternoon at the pool. The staff took us to a farewell dinner at the same restaurant that we went to our first night here.

It’s crazy to think how time flies! After a whole month we are like family, and it is so sad to have to leave. Today we spent the day together getting last minute shopping done and packing for an early morning flight Tuesday!

After spending a month here in France, I have become so accustomed to the culture. I have learned to blend in and learned new ways to approach things. Through this experience, I have made amazing friends and learned how much I love French. It’s sad writing this last blog knowing we have to go home, but I know I will be back again very soon! Until next time…

Bisous!
