Home Is Where My Heart Is, and Aix Is Like Home

I don`t even know how should I start… It has been less than a week here in Aix, and we have already done so many things.

I don’t know if you have ever heard of “Le Tour de France”, but we actually got to see it. Even though it took only a few seconds for the bikers to pass and the waiting was pretty exhausting, it really felt incredible to be a part of it, to see all those people riding their bikes around France, committed to winning this incredible competition.

Aix already feels like home to me. Having my own apartment to share with a roommate that has already become one of my best friends, grocery shopping in the market, preparing my own food, and trying to find my own personal coffee place (like all the great artists used to have), all the while speaking French as much as possible, makes the experience even more extraordinary! I feel more independent than I have in my entire life, and that is surely one of the most amazing things that has ever happened to me!

My next blog post will be all about the French classes that are going to take place every day starting with tomorrow… But until then… à tout a l’heure!
