We’ve finally all arrived at La Résidence Ségurane, our home away from home for the summer. We are just north of the Vieux Port, in a really cool part of Nice.
After we got everyone from the airport, we took a charter bus across town. Our trip was a little longer than normal as Le Tour de France had just passed through town and many of the large streets were still closed.
We settled in and had lunch at the residence… Tabbouleh, salade de thon, and pissaladière et des brownies!
After unpacking, we spent a few hours at the supermarket buying our breakfast foods for the week, and then we went to dinner at a small restaurant adjacent to the residence called Au Vieux Four. Most of us got pizza or pasta and lemon tart.
In the evening, we took a walk down to the port along la Promenade des Anglais and finally into Vieux Nice. 
We finished our first day in Nice with a sweet treat at Fenocchio. It might be the best ice cream in Nice… We’ll have to do some field tests over the next few weeks!
