This past week marked the halfway point of my séjour in France, and while we have been doing something interesting and unique everyday, I can only think of one thing to share: the contract.
This past Wednesday, the group was offered to sign a language contract that forbids anybody who signs it from speaking English with anybody or anything for the rest of the trip. Of course, I had to sign it. So for the past three days, I have not been speaking in English at all. It has been at times difficult, because it is just a reflex to respond in English when somebody speaks to me in English, but other than that it has been good. I feel much more confident in my French. Hopefully, I will be able to maintain my French pledge for the rest of the trip!
