Aix-treme Sadness: The Final Days

The last weekend has passed us! Saturday was, in my opinion, the best day of the trip! We went to Cassis, a beautiful beach town not far from Aix. It was just breathtaking! The first thing we did upon arrival was take a boat ride.

Then we had a stipend lunch. My friends and I had the best moules frites I have ever tasted! Then we went to the beach, which was absolutely amazing! A little salty, but other than that, I have no complaints whatsoever. I’m so glad we were able to go there. It was the perfect water temperature and tide. Everyone loved it.

The beach was followed by a buffet dinner. We were served many different types of quiches, salads, and pizzas. You could say that it was pie-themed, because for dessert we had a huge fruit tart!

Today was the day we all started packing, and then we had a picnic for lunch at the park. It was really fun, because we were doing cartwheels and back flips, even though that’s definitely not what you’re supposed to after eating. Oh well, gotta enjoy your youth! Later we went to the community pool, but it was a different one this time, and it was much warmer because it was indoors.

When we returned to the residence, we had time to shower and change for our farewell dinner. Some people are leaving tomorrow, so we wanted to enjoy everyone’s last night together. The counselors planned a poetic goodbye for us, finishing the circle by going to the same restaurant where we ate on the first night.

Tomorrow is officially the last day. I’m so sad, and it’s going to be very hard to leave. I am gonna do all my last minute shopping, dining, and packing tomorrow. I just wish it hadn’t passed so quickly!
