Week 1 in Florence – Time Flies!
by Staff, Carrie Osborn , Florence Session 1 Program Director

Florence Session 1 is off to a fantastic start!  From the moment our students turned the corner onto the picturesque little cobble-stone street that we call home for the duration of our program, everyone has been in awe of the history and beauty that surrounds us in our neighborhood!

Our group has become a family very quickly, bonding over unforgettable experiences in our first few days like seeing the Duomo for the very first time, riding bikes along the walls of the Tuscan town of Lucca, checking out some stunning views of Florence from the Etruscan hill town of Fiesole, learning first-hand about the Florentine artisan tradition of producing the finest handmade leather goods in the world at the family-run Scuola del Cuoio in Piazza Santa Croce, and climbing the bell tower to get an up-close and personal view of Brunelleschi’s dome!

Everybody is loving their classes and are beyond enthusiastic about learning Italian, Art History, Drawing, Italian Cuisine, and more.  Myself and the rest of the staff and teachers have been so impressed with how eager our students are to learn and how quickly they are picking things up.  We’re all so excited to explore more of Tuscany on our upcoming trip to San Gimignano and Siena this weekend. Here’s to the end of a fantastic first week of classes, and many more happy, gelato-filled days! Ciao for now
