Winter Fashion Trends

It’s officially winter, and that means style changes! This season you’ll be seeing knit sweaters and cardigans in neutral colors and simple patterns.

Turtlenecks are my personal favorite because they keep my neck warm. Scarves are winter’s number one accessory. They come in a variety of colors, the most popular being cream and burgundy. I prefer infinity scarves. Leather pants are back in style for the first time since the 80’s! They are the perfect piece to complement any sweater or jacket.

When it comes to footware, boots are a must-have! My favorite pair of boots are knee length and black leather. While black and brown leather are a classic staple, suede boots are in for this season as well. Another trend that is making a comeback is fringe. Dark colored fringe, and suede fringe on jackets, boots, and pants.

Winter time is all about staying warm, and that means layering. Thermal is a great way to stay warm without the bulk. A variety of vests can be used to complement any ensemble. Faux fur vests are especially trendy in browns and blacks. My favorite fur vest is dark gray and it’s great knowing that my outfit is animal friendly.

Another winter favorite is the hat. It is perfect for winter because it is practical and stylish. The most “current” style is the beanie. My favorite way to spice up a plain black beanie is to put a flower clip on it! It is versatile for both men and women. Another type of hat that is trending this winter is the fur lined hat. It gives that cozy camp fire feel while still being chic.

Now it’s time for holiday party attire. You have to switch out your little black dress for the little red one. Not only is a red dress perfect for Christmas but New Years as well. It’s important in all seasons of fashion to have pieces you can wear more than once. If your dress is simple, pairing it with some sparkly accessories and heels will make it an overall show stopper.
